Jewelry came from the word jewel which was derived from the French word joule back in the 13th century. Some might even suggest that the word jewel was actually a derivative of the word “Jew” because during that time most of the important jewelry artisans were Jews. Every one knows that since time immemorial, jewelry has adorned our bodies. For some jewelry is a symbol of social status and wealth while for the others it is just a way to beautify themselves. The truth is jewelry has been around for thousands of years. The ancient civilization of Egypt as well as the races from the Middle East can prove that.
During the past decades, often mostly women are adorned with different jewelries. On the other hand, for men, their jewelry is limited to either rings or mens watches. Now, everything has changed. Men have much freedom as women when it comes to wearing the jewelry of their choice. In addition, men’s jewelry has a wider selection ranging from rings, necklaces, bracelets and cufflinks among others. The only difference between men’s jewelry and women’s is the size. As for the design, it might be similar but men’s jewelry is larger or wider and bolder.
Choosing men’s jewelry is another story. Since there has been a wide array of jewelries available in the market, buying that perfect piece of jewelry would require a bit of your time. If you are a woman buying a piece of jewelry for a man, ask yourself: What kind of image of a man wearing beautiful jewelry would you like to see? Do you prefer the elegant look of a man wearing a lovely tailored suit with an equally flattering set of cufflinks? Or how about some gold necklace to give his clothes a little flash? In case you are having a hard time deciding, for additional information, some men have preference for titanium and silver steel jewelry over silver and gold. In fact, this is now common. The reason being titanium and silver steel come across as more masculine and easier on the pocket while the latter are more expensive. Anyway, for those who would like to have gold and silver as their jewelry, there should be no cause for concern because men today have more freedom to buy what ever they like without fear of judgment. Aside from jewelry made of titanium and silver steel, another type of men’s jewelry that is becoming increasingly popular is the Tribal Jewelry. The Tribal Jewelry usually comes across as dark and masculine, an absolute fit for those who think that the ordinary jewelry is much too feminine. And what’s good about this is even titanium and silver steel can have that Tribal design.
Assuming, you have finally made that decision to buy men’s jewelry, as with all things, maintaining and caring for it is also required. First of all, you need to keep jewelry clean. by regularly washing it with soft soap and water then pat it dry with a towel. Also keep in mind to make sure you take off your jewelry when you go to chlorinated pools because chlorine can damage the color of your jewelry.

Nice post..I totally agree with the part about Men now having the freedom of wearing jewelry. And with so much choice and variety out there on the net there is really no excuse…Men have never had it better than they do now.
