Gold prices have been going up. Right now, 14K gold is being bought for $18.30 a gram (this number fluctuates very quickly). Earlier this month it was almost $20 a gram. Usually when purchasing jewelry, the materials used only worth about 1/3 the amount you pay (if you are lucky). Although diamonds are often considered “a girl’s best friend”, they are also fairly pricey. If you want a really flashy ring, but are on a budget, it is worth your while to at least consider Cubic Zirconia jewelry.
